Teck was named to the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index for the sixth straight year in 2023, demonstrating a high level of disclosure and overall performance in: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand.
Corporate Human Rights Benchmark - World Benchmarking Alliance
Teck was assessed by CHRB in 2023 and was ranked above the extractive industry average. CHRB ranks companies based on disclosure and performance related to human rights practices.
Corporate Knights - Best 50 Corporate Citizens
Teck was named as one of Corporate Knights’ 2023 Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada for the 17th consecutive year.
Corporate Knights - Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations
Teck has been recognized as one of the 2023 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations by Corporate Knights, marking the fifth straight year Teck has been named to the list.
FTSE4Good Index
Teck was listed on the FTSE Russell FTSE4Good Index in 2023, and was ranked in the top percentile for the basic resources sector.
Global Health 50/50
In 2023, Teck was named a “Good Performer” on the Gender & Health Index. GH5050 works to advance gender equality in global health and the Index provides an indication of the overall performance of each organization.
ISS ESG Corporate Rating
In 2021, Teck achieved ‘Prime’ status on the ISS ESG Corporate Rating, meaning we achieved/exceeded the performance requirements (Prime threshold) defined by ISS ESG for our industry in the ESG Corporate Rating.
Moody's ESG
In 2023, Teck received an ESG Overall Score of 69, above the mining and metals North America sector average performance of 44, as of July 2023. Scores of 60 or above are considered advanced.
MSCI Global Sustainability Index Series
As of 2023, Teck received an MSCI ESG Rating of AA, classifying Teck as a Leader in the metals and mining non-precious metals industry. Teck has been a member of MSCI World ESG Leaders Index since 2015.
S&P Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)
In 2023, Teck was named to the S&P Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI) for the 14th consecutive year, indicating that Teck is in the top 10 percent of the largest 2,500 companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index based on long term economic, environmental and social criteria.
Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating
In June, 2023, Teck received an ESG Risk Rating of 20.5 and was assessed by Sustainalytics to be at Medium risk of experiencing material financial impacts from ESG factors. Teck is recognized by Sustainalytics as a 2023 ESG Industry Top-Rated company.
Workforce Disclosure Initiative (WDi)
In the 2022 WDi survey, Teck received a disclosure score of 86%, above the global average of 64% and Canada average of 63%.

B.C. Mine Safety Awards - John Ash Award
In 2018, Teck's Greenhills Operations received the award for having the lowest injury-frequency rate during at least one million worker hours for mines in British Columbia.
Canada’s Top 100 Employers
Teck has been selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 which recognizes companies for exceptional performance on eight criteria: Physical Workplace; Work Atmosphere and Social; Health, Financial, and Family Benefits; Vacation and Time Off; Employee Communications; Performance Management; Training & Skills Development; and Community Involvement.
Canada’s Top Employers for Young People
In 2021, Teck was named as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People, which recognizes companies for exceptional programs and performance in attracting and retaining younger workers. The criteria includes benefits such as tuition assistance, availability of co-op or work-study programs, mentorship and training programs, and career management programs.
Canadian Institute of Mining John T. Ryan Trophy
This award, one of the most important safety awards in the mining sector, recognizes mines that experienced the lowest reportable injury frequency in their respective country in the previous year. In 2017, Teck’s Greenhills Operations received the award for the Safest Coal Mine in Canada for the fifth time. In 2014, this award was presented to Carmen de Andacollo Operations for the lowest injury frequency in Chile.
CN EcoConnexions Partnership Program
In 2017 and 2018, Teck was recognized as an EcoConnexions partner for the second consecutive year by CN Rail, celebrating environmentally-responsible customers who share CN’s commitment to preserving and protecting the environment.
CPA Canada – Awards of Excellence in Corporate Reporting
Teck won the Excellence Award in Sustainability Reporting in 2017 as well as the overall Platinum award for demonstrating exemplary quality in each of the remaining three judging categories: Financial Reporting, Corporate Governance Disclosures and Electronic Disclosure.
Engineering Achievement Award
In 2016, Teck received the Engineering Achievement Award from the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of New Brunswick for our Sa Dena Hes mine closure and reclamation project. The project was recognized as an outstanding example of First Nations engagement in a natural resources sector project.
Ethical Corporation Responsible Business Awards
In 2018, Teck won Ethical Corporation’s Responsible Business Award for Inclusion and Diversity. In 2017, Teck won their Sustainability Report of the Year Award.
Finance and Sustainability Initiative Award for Best Sustainability Report
In 2020, Teck won in the Non-Renewable Resources – Metals & Mining other than Gold category for Best Sustainability Report. In 2017 and 2018, Teck won in the Non-Renewable Resources – Metals & Mining category for Best Sustainability Report. The FSI Competition for Best Sustainability Report recognizes sustainability reports of Canadian companies that are part of the S&P/TSX Composite Index.
Forbes Canada’s Best Employers
In 2021, Teck was named to Forbes Canada’s Best Employers 2021 List. The list was selected by Forbes and Statistica, through an independent survey applied to a vast sample of more than 8,000 Canadian employees working for companies with more than 500 employees in Canada. The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees that were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family.
Forbes World’s Top Employers
In 2020, Teck was named to the Forbes World’s Best Employers 2020 list, an employee-driven ranking of multinational and large companies from 45 countries that looked at topics including COVID-19 response and willingness to recommend an employer to friends and family.
Gender Equality Awards – Global Compact Network Canada
Teck was awarded the Gender Equality Award in 2017 from the Global Compact Network in the category of Women’s Empowerment Principal 3: Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all women and men workers.
Mining Association of Canada’s Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) Leadership Award
A TSM Leadership Award is granted only when a facility meets or exceeds a Level A ranking in their results across all of the six protocols of TSM - Aboriginal and community outreach, crisis management, safety and health, tailings management, biodiversity conservation management, and energy use and greenhouse gas emissions management.

In 2016, Teck’s Carmen de Andacollo operations received certification from Mutual de Seguridad in recognition of their extraordinary safety results, with no Lost Time Incidents during the year.
Renewables Award - Energy and Mines
In 2016, Teck won the Outstanding Commitment to Renewable Energy award for best use of renewables at a reclaimed mine site for the SunMine project at our former Sullivan Mine.
Waterstone Human Capital - Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Culture
