This may include projects for biodiversity and habitat protection and enhancement, land conservation and protection of species-at-risk, recreation access, decarbonization and a reduction in climate risk or increase in climate adaptation.
Focus: programs and initiatives that improve the health, well-being, and overall quality of life in communities where Teck operates. This may include funding for health and wellness facilities, sports, social support and safety, and emergency response.
Focus: Indigenous led or requested programs or initiatives to support Reconciliation. This may be related to increased access to training, education or leadership investments. In many cases, it relates to preservation of language, culture or artifacts that are critical to maintaining Indigenous identity. Preference is given to Nations, bands and tribes on whose traditional lands Teck operates.
Focus: programs and initiatives designed to address educational disparities and promote fairness and inclusivity within communities. These programs aim to ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to reach their full educational potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. Teck prioritizes youth STEM education, education critical for the work of the future, and support for institutions of technical training and higher education, as well as initiatives that encourage awareness of the importance of mining and metals in society.
